Does anyone know why the bullpen at Comerica Park doesn?t have a dirt strip to the plate like the game mound has. Seems like you?d want some uniformity.

A hundred and fifty views and nobody offers an opinion. Surely somebody might have a thought.

My opinion is I'm not sure. Do other parks have a "dirt strip?"

Chase Field. As to why the BP is not “uniform” with the infield. Maybe that explains why the Tigers’ pen has been so historically bad.

One of the most unique features to Comerica Park is the stripe that goes from the pitcher's mound to home plate. It is often referred to as the "keyhole," due to the look of the stripe combined with pitcher's mound.

The only other field in the major league that offers this older feature is Chase Field in Arizona, home of the Diamondbacks.
