COY Award - National

Hoke, hands down. What he did for UM this year is totally deserving of the award.

man, i remember when hoke was hired. Ohio and sparty fans laughed at him, calling him fat, a third choice, and said he'd be gone in 3 years. One facebook friend (sparty) said that there was absolutely no chance that he could turn around the defense or even improve it slightly, even after we hired mattison.

10-2 with a defense that is probably third or fourth best in the B1G and an offense that steadily got better as the season went on. Definitely deserves it.

IMO it's between snyder and hoke. We shall see.

No one, not even UM fans thought this would happen. I had mixed reservations. I thought Miles or Harbaugh were obviously the best choice BUT, Hoke had turned around 2 other programs. Not as fast as here though. I think Mattison can be attributed to that.

Well, let's see ... These 'final 3' candidates for the M job.

One is going to be NFL Coach of the Year and his team already clinched their Division ...the other dude has his team in the BCS Title game, playing against a team they already beat once and then there's Brady ....10-2, including wins over ND and Ohio and a BCS Bowl birth.

Not bad at all.

I think we can all agree that Mattison will probably be coordinator of the year. I honestly think that Miles will win Coach of the year, I feel like it will be a lot like the heisman the best player (coach) that plays for one of the teams in the NCG. Miles is the only undefeated coach in college football right now.

On a side note I loved it when I saw MSU/OSU fans saying that Hoke should win it because this was expected this year. On what planet was Michigan projected for a 10-2 season and a BCS bowl game at the beginning of the season? I think most "experts" and UM fans thought that 8-4 would be the best UM would do this season

Most of my associates that are MSU fans were predicting 6 wins for Michigan and now act like what they have done is no big deal.

Nobody was expecting things to go as well as they have, but thanks to facebook timeline, I was just reminded of my reaction to the 1st press conference after the hire. I was very excited. If memory serves, lots of us were.

3 days before that, I was publically hoping the "Miles to Michigan" rumors were false.

What's with people (typically idiots) giving the HC no credit for the staff he puts together?

We saw this with RichRod... "oh these problems are due to Greg Robinson." YEAH BUT WHO THE FUCK HIRED GREG ROBINSON???

Now... Hoke brings in Greg Mattison... and the spartoons here are like "Well, sure I guess Hoke must've done some small thing right, if the team won 10 games, but Mattison is obviously the reason for this bla bla bla..."

Well apparently each and every hire Herb Enmeijer has made has been absolutely perfect. Each position coach, each coordinator ... every single person working for Ohio* is now better because Herb hired them. Forget about the past, you get hired by Herb and it's like you live in a Holiday Inn Express!
