Well crap.

You know who else is saying "well crap."?

Larry Wilmore. Probably Comedy Central too.

well its probably time. he's been on for how long again?

17 years. Not just that, he seems more pissed off these days. I think he's sick of it.

Seventeen years! Crazy. I remember when I started in college, Craig Kilbourn was still doing it, but Stewart must've taken over that year at some point ('98).

In the grand scheme of things, if he's not replaced, the world is worse off.

I much preferred the Colbert Report though; Stewart spent too much time (any time was too much time) pandering to DC/NYC centrists, or inviting on some pretty questionable guests & allowing them to plug their books and come off as sweethearts (I'm thinking of Pervez Musharraf). Having Brian Williams on, as many times as he did, was pathetic. The guy was always a d-bag, and Stewart gave him credibility by having him on the show.

Brian Williams is probably going to take over now that he's been fired and we know that all the shit he's been telling is made up shit anyway already.
