Since the Alabama Crimson Tide lost to the Clemson Tigers in the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship to end the season, Alabama head coach Nick Saban has seen offensive coordinator Mike Locksley (Maryland), quarterbacks coach Dan Enos (Miami), defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi (Cleveland Browns), wide receivers coach Josh Gattis (Michigan) and offensive line coach Brent Key (Georgia Tech) leave the program.

Of the departures, Enos was the most surprising since he was expected to be promoted to offensive coordinator. Locksley agreed to accept the Maryland head coach job after the regular season ended, but remained with Alabama through the playoff. However, the manner in which Enos left is perhaps even more shocking, according to a report released Thursday by The Athletic's Bruce Feldman.

The remaining Crimson Tide staffers and Saban gathered for a meeting last Friday, and several of them knew Enos had accepted an offer from new Miami Hurricanes coach Manny Diaz, per Feldman. Saban, though, was unaware, prompting the coach to ask, "Where the F#$% is Dan?!?" Feldman wrote. Enos' office had already been cleared out.

I dont like Saban, but this Enos turd is a snake in the grass. Apparently not a face to face kind of guy, lol.

eh, sounds bad. but there are two sides to every story. Maybe Enos didn't want to confront his boss directly because Saban hadn't been up front with him, or had trashed him or something.

I had a generally favorable impression of Enos, although given how he left here and now Alabama, that is changing. on the other had, I never had a very good impression of Saban

It seems like Alabama imploding like this after one (1) loss sounds a lot like what happened to us after the big "L" in Columbus, although we didn't lose THAT many coaches, of course.

All of this, along with the OSU preseason scandal, NCAA failure to do ANYTHING against ANYONE, the falling ratings, the pervasive sleaziness through every crevice in the sport, and I'm now of the opinion that all of College football completely blows. Too much money flowing around. It's more or less a complete cesspool of corruption. I really don't care any more.

I'll pay attention to Michigan football, sure, out of dwindling loyalty to my alma mater, but even that Last Sacred Cow is no longer sacred to me.

this "sport" is just a bunch of teenagers, most of whom are arrrogant pricks, coached by grossly overpaid fucking morons, who are in turn run by some of the biggest scumbags, in a nation increasingly full of scumbags.

*steps off soapbox*

"Hey where did everybody go? come back!"

You sound ready for my one simple fix for everything that's wrong with college football.

Just take it off TV.

No more broadcasting of games and all the problems disappear.

I'll start a petition.

LOL, thinking about games not being televised. everyone on internet message boards would have to read the same recaps on ESPN.com or the Freep after the games are over and find new things to argue about that way.

All that TV commercial revenue-gone.

Somewhat appropos of this thread, Jay Paterno (yes Joe Paterno's
son and former PennSt assistant coach himself) is now a paid blogger/propagandist for the Saudi Arabian government (link).

burn it all down.

That was kind of the point I was trying to make by posting. Never liked Saban. He is a cheating fuck, always will be, but the Enos part is one prick who will fuck anyone over and never talk to you again. "Where's the fuck is Dan!!!!???..........and where's the hell's my wife?" "Um Michamp, your buddy Dan Enos has been dating your wife for about 2 weeks now. They left last week to Miami. We though you knew?"

This is the kind of guy he seems to be. Saban is a straight dick that lets you know he's a dick and a cheater, and does so in front of you and to your face.

Yeah, maybe Saban isn't that bad. you heard my Nick Saban story, right? I know I told my buddies on the MSU board about it. they liked it.

My thinking on this is evolving... when Enos left here I remember thinking "I don't blame him; Harbaugh hasn't managed his staff right." and I really wanted Drevno and Pep gone. but now Enos did it again.

But in the end where I am now, I think somewhere upwards of 75% of college football coaches are incompetent assholes, and most of the remainder are just incompetent. "Too Much Money" ruins anything, and I think Gulo's right about TV being largely to blame.

Bo would not recognize the sport, and he hasn't even been gone that long

Pep Hamilton was already here when we thought we were hiring Enos. Who did we get because he bailed on us? McElwain?

Maybe Enos heard from Gattis how Saban reamed him a new ass for leaving and didn't feel like going through that.

Gattis later said he was joking
Anyone who has taken words from my podcast out of context as a shot on someone & a program I have tremendous respect for is completely wrong! Reading without listening is a complete assumption. The joke was poorly made lightly not to reflect someone I have the utmost respect for!

He probably heard sarkisian was back so decided to leave and get a promotion. You know.. something just about any coach in America would do.

everytime I see this thread title, Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lookin' Out My Back Door" starts playing in my head.

I ain't mad at him!

I hate my current employer and if I could just walk out the back door and not tell anyone I was leaving, and not burn any bridges permanently for future employment, I would. I would love to drop all my gear and crap and roll out the back door, flipping the peace sign to everyone I seen on my way out.

Thats kind of my point. Who here would want to burn a bridge, when you may need your current employer for future employment(if things dont work out at your new job)? The dude basically fucked over 2 prominent coaches and is now unhireable in some circles. If I was a coach, Id say no way to an interview, because recruits would never trust him. No integrity.

Given his actions, he'll probably be next up for that job in E. Lansing when Dantonio finally hangs it up
