Dan Enos Sneaking out the Back Door

Thats kind of my point. Who here would want to burn a bridge, when you may need your current employer for future employment(if things dont work out at your new job)? The dude basically fucked over 2 prominent coaches and is now unhireable in some circles. If I was a coach, Id say no way to an interview, because recruits would never trust him. No integrity.

How many head coaches have integrity these days?

How do the high integrity or even medium integrity coaches fair in recruiting?

It doesn't fucking matter.

Given his actions, he'll probably be next up for that job in E. Lansing when Dantonio finally hangs it up

LOL, no, they like coaches that continuously underperform and never get hired for new jobs.

I dont know, but it sounds like you could use some fiber in your diet.

I don't know... I agree with you in principle, but as someone who once endured a couple miserable years in a bad job, I know where LostLeader is coming from.

And what Enos did is not that out of the ordinary in this profession, especially when all these guys can basically be shitcanned at any time (as can any of us.)

I mean, what football coaches who've behaved like absolutely reprehensible scumbags ever had trouble getting another job?

Kiffin, Sarkisian, RichRod, etc.

I know what you guys are saying, but not everybody needs to be a shitbag. The diffeence between these guys and us is if they are fired, they are still guaranteed their contracted monies. If im recruiting against Miami and I find out Enos is the lead recruiter, you can bet myself and all others will use his "loyaty" against him.

3 Years and Friday is my last day. On to greener pastures come next Monday...I hope

Yeah what he has done is shady by most peoples standards, but its not abnormal. Plus as history as proven there will be no lasting effects and there is a long list of head coaches who have done worse. I think college football or any sport really, there is no gentlemen's agreement or anything like that. It's as cut throat as it gets and every man (or woman in some cases) for themselves.

See Brian Kelly as he left Cincinnati.

congrats!

I didn't burn any bridges when I left, but I'm pretty sure my dispshit boss knew I disliked him and the company.

I knew a couple people who DID burn bridges there, and they are fine; still fully employed and happy elsewhere. It only really matters with your actual boss. most other co-workers are equally unhappy, and - unless they're bootlickers - empathize with their colleagues more than management.

One lady gave "2 weeks notice" then added "and I'm taking my two weeks vacation remaining starting now" and walked out the door. I envied her. I think she already had her other job lined up.

Well, I have to work my last day to get paid out any vacation time and receive my other benefits without penalty. So I turned in 8 days of vacation, came into work on a Monday after I turned in vacation and dropped my notice, making my last day tomorrow. Pretty sweet deal so far, did an exit interview with HR and basically got the impression they could care less about the dysfunction.

in my experience, HR is usually part and parcel with the dysfunction.

In my world, I have seen folks quit and walk out with the proverbial middle finger in the air only to have a firm merger/acquisition take place and suddenly be working alongside or for the same folks they flipped off.

Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney
Wachovia and Wells Fargo

small industry ....Denver is a subset of it. I have had candidates come to me and all it took was a cell call or text to a friend to find out why they were really dismissed/left.

This millennial D-Bag here actually posted a hand-written note to the CEO, telling him off and walked out with another job waiting him. Turns out the new boss got wind of/read this letter and the poor sap is now working at the 24-hour fitness nearby and did not get that new job.

congrats Lost Leader!!

Nice story, lol.

Our Sheriff was voted out this past November. Dude was a total dildo. Didn't know anyone's name and if he seen them out in public, he would never know he had met them before and worked for him. "Hey, nice to meet you, I'm Sheriff Lowell. What's your name?" "I'm Sgt. John Denton...............I work for you." This conversation happened with more than 3 people, lol. I would never, though, under any circumstances tell him he's a jackoff and that he was an absent father of the county. He knows a lot of people around the state and if I ever needed a new job and I pissed him off, I would probably be the 1st person he ever remembered and I'd be shit out of luck with the new job.
