He will at least get some playing time this way. You still cant help but wonder what would have happened had he come back. Although it worked out really well for us because Trey is all that and more.

He signed a 1 year $473,604 contract. Since he was a 2nd rounder, I'm guessing that contract was not guaranteed and he is making D-League money now.

If his contract was not guaranteed and he was only paid for his time in the NBA, then he would have made $279,856 over his 39 games with the Lakers.

That's a lot for a kid his age but that's not a lot if he ends up never making the league and has to work for a living without a degree.

It does actually look like he will still be getting paid off his original contract. I did not think that was the case. NBA players who are sent to the D-League and stay on the NBA teams inactive list continue to get paid their NBA salary.

Either way, Morris was not ready for the NBA. Plain and simple.

We all knew that when he declared. I still think its a case where he made up his mind early in the process he was going no matter what.

Im still not sure why anyone would tell him to go to the NBA after last year. How does a pg in the NBA not have a 3pt shot another year would have done wonders.
