Cleveland plays Marlins 9-2,3,4
Cleveland plays Astros 9-5,6,7,8 Tigers do not play. Need Tribe loss
Cleveland plays Royals 9-20-21-22,30,10-1,2

Dates Tigers have got to win 20 games
Cleveland plays Twins 9-29,30,31; 10-9,10,11
Cleveland plays the Sox ,10-12,13,14,15,23,24,25
Cleveland plays TIGERS 10-16,17,18,26,27,28,29

Catching Cleveland can be done as there are 24 games the Tigers really have a chance to gain ground left to play. All the Tigers have to do is WIN games!

Texas is ahead of the Tribe as of now. Tigers have the Angels the 26,27,28 Ground could/needs to be made up this series!
The wild card is well within reach Bosox has lost and OREO's are getting Scherzer ed. 8 innings of shut out ball! LAA ahead of the Jays as well. Could be a 5 win day for the Tigers. One for them and 4 loses for the rest.

Yep thjs thread has taken a twist I never saw coming.
8-26-16 Tigers win this was a need to win. Unfortunately Cleveland BEAT Texas. But at 4.5 Tigers are still within striking range of face to face games!!

On the Wild Card front The now charging Yanks knock off Oreo's Tigers are now just 1 back and only one back in the important lose column. The Yank is fighting back to getting in the WC race. But they still have enough games with the teams in front of them to win there Division! As thet are only 5.5 back of Toronto. They got 8 left with Oreo's,6 with the Jay's and 7 with the Bosox. More than enough to over haul all of them!!

Royals took Bosox, that help as Tigers gain in the WC to two Back of the better WC position. But those Royals are a barking/nipping on the heals! Tigers have games left with them that GOT to be won!
Seattle got by the bad sox gees Sales failed! That leaves them a game back. Winning the Division would be a whole lot safer.
Houston got past the Rays there 2 back things are getting tight.

Looking at the schedule. The chasers have good chances of running down the persued. The teams that win there games petty well have there fate in there hands! But IMO Tigers have a great chance to make the playoffs and win the Division with how the schedule is going to play out. Just do what Brad said JUST WIN GAMES The winners are going to TAKE playoffs SPOTS.

With all of the teams in striking distance of the WC, I think the Tigers best chance to make the playoffs is to catch the Indians. With so many WC contenders I think it is very possible that there will be 2 WC teams with better records than the central winner.
