RT ?@ProFootballTalk: Louis Delmas returns to Lions on a two-year deal, per league source.?

Got our starting S's. I wasn't going to be bummed if he went elsewhere now that he's here I hope he stays healthy..

Awesome, I'm sure we got him on the cheap based on health. If this guy were to be healthy for 16 games he is a dynamic player. Changes the game. Glad we didn;t count on him and signed someone better and more reliably healthy. Imagine if we did get Millner now, wow, total overhaul fo the secondary.

Two good S, one healthy in career the other not. But it's better than going into draft needing a S.

Not so sure he'll be there at 5.

Also, not so sure we will get a ton of games out of Delmas. I like the signing though, just not too excited yet. He hasn't shown he can stay healthy.

2 years 9.465 million...not exactly super cheap given his injury history..but its short term so it shouldn't affect us too much

On Delmas, well said ... RT @mork1215 both sides cheated but with counseling they have reconciled...for the children I'm told

I'll echo the sentiments here... PLEASE STAY HEALTHY, PLEASE STAY HEALTHY, PLEASE STAY HEALTHY!!!

Yeah, I really like this move for a few reasons.

1. Delmas is talented. Yes, he is injury prone (it exists, LKP) but nobody can deny we are a much better D with him out there.

2. It's short term.

3. Because it's short term, it doesn't prevent us from drafting a mid round S to develop.

4. There doesn't seem to be a lot left out there in the FA safety market. Reed would be much too expensive....and old....and injury prone. Delmas was the best affordable talent available. I also think they saw that there is good S talent available later in the draft and not a lot of top tier S available. I think it was a great decision. Good get.

Mayhew gets an A+ this offseason.....

So far.

Atta boy Mayhew!! Delma's is one of my favorite Lions and I'm really glad they resigned him. Sure hes been injured a lot, but if healthy he is a great player. Pair him with Quin and the secondary might actually (dare I say) be a strength?

I really think we need to go DE or OT at #5 now

If we got Millner, this would be easily the most talented secondary the Lions have had in my lifetime, might be close already.

Tony, most of the best safeties never seem to be healthy enough. Ed Reed has been injured a lot in his career. Palamolu. Bob Sanders was never on the field long enough for the coin flip.

These guys play hard, they hit hard, and they pay the price.

Quinn is a solid cover guy, and Delmas is the complimentary missile. This could be awesome for us.
