Denard cannot throw accurately

Luckily, they didn't need to have Denard throw the ball this game. I'm having a hard time believing his passing skills are as bad as he has shown so far this season, and he hasn't been passed by Devin Gardner. I don't know man. Right now it feels like there is absolutely no passing threat at all. How are they able to run the ball at all? If I were the DC of opposing teams, I would stack th LOS and force Denard to throw.

what doesn't make sense to me is that he's regressed so much from last year. I mean, he's missing wide open guys five feet away. There has to be something else going on. He was never very accurate at the long ball but he rarely made such poor throws against guys five feet away.

How could I possaibly guess what side M&B would come down on in a discussion about Denard?

Not much of a surprise.

Tell us how bad Denard sucks again for the zillionth time.

What...what? When have I ever said Denard sucks? Outside of just saying he's sucked at passing lately - I've can't say I've ever said anything negative about him.

Just kidding really. Hard to post tone on a message board.

I was disappointed he didn't pass better too, but I believe he more than made up for it running the ball - just my opinion of course.

That seems to be the kind of player he is. Eventually Michigan will get back to sending QB's to NFL greatness, but we aren't there yet. In the meantime I sure can enjoy what we do have. He is nothing short of amazing to me.

Danny Diggler[/color]]Nobody will ever see the point of why Denard will be the only QB you see elusively this season, so I'm done talking about it.

if you are talking that denard is the only elusive qb...wait until taylor martinez runs all over the fucking place.

Pretty sure he meant to say "exclusively" there.

i wouldnt be suprised if devin passes him next year and plays. id like to see denard in the backfield, at least once.

Denard is in the backfield, as the qb

and I'd be shocked if DG ever passed him, absolutely surprised...

I lol'd when a few husker fans suggested that Martinez is faster than Denard.

Btw

Shouldn't you be posting about how tough Sparty's schedule is or maybe how they are recruiting nationally now?

He needs to stop throwing off his back foot and quit staring down receivers and trying to hit Roundtree on every pass.

Denard can throw down the middle only when the defense leaves it open, either because the out routes have moved the safeties towards the sidelines, the running game has caused the LB to stay closer to the LOS, or the defense is blitzing.

He can't throw down the middle when there is tight man coverage, zone with 3-4 across, or when the defense bunches the middle of the line. So it'd be nice if our play calling would fucking take this into consideration and set up this part of the passing game with well thought out playcalling.

bam, they are in a sense. Borges is calling the short crossing route and the r-back in the flat. Denard is just throwing it in the fucking dirt or right at the opposition. He can make these passes, but it's friggin mental right now. He's just thinking way too much.

You think? I don't know. I keep going back to the gameplan against ND last year, and the number of times Odoms was targeted on the outside with the 7-9 yard route. That stretched out the defense horizontally, and it opened up Denard on the run and throwing down the middle.

If it's me, my gameplan against Minnesota next week is to name a starting running back and tell him unless he's tired/hurt, he's not coming out of a 1st or 2nd down formation until halftime. I'd run Denard to the outside and throw the outs and the buttonhooks to open up the middle, and only THEN would I start to target Koger.

Then I'd start to work in the halfrollout to pull the defense and look for the throwback screen, or the fake Denard up the middle and hit the WR down the seam.

I'd like to see the middle of the field opened up b/c we called and executed plays to do so.

yep

and he forced some instead of taking his time

to be honest i thought denard would be a slot receiver by now when i first heard Hoke was comming into town. Were 4-0 and ya hes sucked at throwing the ball but we havent really needed to throw the ball effectively yet this year. Were running the ball really well. The games vs MSU, NEB and OSU his arm is going to make or break us.

He fails miserably in those games i dont see why you wouldnt take a closer look at Gardner for next year and Denard as as gimick/slot/wildcat guy.
