Denver 110 Detroit 105 Final

Agree. Nice player to build around. Now can the Pistons get it right. I have my doubts.

There is a lot of buzz around the Pistons moving Grant. He's under contract next year but a free agent after that. I think I would try to extend him now and give him a bump in salary or trade him. I don't think I'd go into next season with the prospect of him hitting free agency.

I'm willing to bet Grant will be traded soon. Saddiq has been playing the 4 and seems to be better there than he was at the 3. Be nice to get a player that can play the 5 back.

When I see what Cade did and still lose to an average team it seems how far we really are from competing. Though Jokic had a monster game himself.

I enjoy watching them more without Grant. He?s the first scoring option on this team and I think they leaned on him a little too much at times earlier in the season. Him being out gives the younger core more room to grow.

I?m fine with trading him if they keep the price tag a little high (not settle for just anything), would like to see young talent (strong on the boards would be great) and a pick. Also OK with packaging him with someone else too if that?s what it takes (there aren?t too many untouchable players on this roster IMO).

Not too concerned, Cade will be even better with more experience and more talent surrounding him. Keep in mind that ~36% of the cap is dead money right now, Grant being injured pushes that figure to over 50% of the cap allocated to players who aren?t playing for them right now. I?m glad to see them lose close games because it shows that this team can compete and secures a higher pick, another two drafts and freed up dead money could turn things around quickly. I?d be a bit more worried if they were getting blown out every night.

I just looked at the Pistons dead money. About 7.5M for Deandre Jordan this year and next. When did he play for the Pistons?

The Nets traded him and four future 2nds for Detroit to eat all that money. The Pistons immediately bought him out.
