Biega was traded to the Red Wings in exchange for forward David Pope on Sunday.

Biega was waived and sent down to AHL Utica before the season after scoring 16 points in 41 NHL contests last season. Detroit's blue line has been struck by the injury bug with Jonathan Ericsson (undisclosed) and Trevor Daley (lower body) both seemingly on the shelf for an unknown amount of time. The 31-year-old Biega will be nothing more than a depth fill-in piece.

Home opener means nothing to me from the couch, just another regular season game. It's weird that you get so pissy that someone else doesn't watch what you watch. Something I'd expect from my 7 year old.

You know hockey is not as popular as football. I don't understand it, lol, but that's the just way it is. On here, its Lions, Tigers (though its tough these days) & Michigan football. Everything else is just secondary. And on the opposite side where I'm at I rather watch a random NHL game than a Lions game.

I or anyone else shouldn't be persecuted for that. We all have our favorite sports.
