Seems like he is starting to figure it out at the plate, plays good defense and has decent power. Do you guys think the Rockies would give him up along with Rafael Betancourt for Jacob Turner, Brennan Boesch, Andy Oliver, and James McCann?

I like outfield defense but there really is not enough power in those 3 or 4 guys...

A product of Coors.

2012 Home = .352 BAVG .449 OBP .703 SLG 1.152 OPS

2012 Away = .178 BAVG .260 OBP .311 SLG .571 OPS

2009-2011 Home = .283 BAVG .384 OBP .468 SLG .852 OPS

2009-2011 Away = .246 BAVG .332 OBP .368 SLG .700 OPS

Neifi Perez was a great player in COL!

Dammit, I forgot about that. I think the only truly good hitter on that team in Tulo, the others have splits like Fowler and Cargo.

What is a "product of Coors Field?"

Players consistently hit better at Coors, the low humidity shrinks the balls making them more dense, the humidor helps, but not 100%. The air is also thinner, meaning the ball has less friction, which makes it harder to throw good slider/curves, and the ball carries more off a bat.

The Tigers lost 2 out of 3 in Colorado last year..

I was at the Verlander masterpiece on Father's Day. The thing about Coors Field are its dimensions, not the humidor debate and the effect of altitude on starting pitchers. There is truth to the breaking ball but somehow its never mentioned related to Arizona or San Diego, depending whether its day or night. I've always suggested the Rockies find the baddest split finger/sinkerballer as Pitching Coach in AAA and make ecery prospect learn it.

Fowler is a disappointment according to most real Rockies fans. He's picked it up lately but I don't think he's a "product of Coors Field" more than he's a young kid still developing who hits better at home.

I can't wait until I hear Joey Votto's career described as being a product of Great American (or whatever it is) Ballpark, given its bandbox size and baseball leading HR tally, or Osh Hamilton's production in Texas minimized due to the plethora of new hitter-friendly parks.

Maybe a option but i doubt it the way QB is playing... I really don't think DD would give up Turner for Fowler at all..

I'm down with riding QB while he is on, don't get me wrong, but he is simply not an everyday player. Fowler would bring good speed, solid defense, good eye at the plate, and some occasional power. He is basically a switch hitting Ajax with less speed, but more patience at the plate. He would take Delmon or Boesch's place in RF and one of Boesch or Delmon would stay at full time DH.

I would give Turner up no problem, I just don't see an ace pitcher in him. Hopefully he proves me wrong Thursday, but I don't buy the hype.

Fowler UZR/150 since 2010 = -7.2

Career Away

.235 BAVG .320 OBP .356 SLG .676 OPS

I am sorry...but Fowler is not something this team needs. He would become the next "whipping boy".

Look at his BABIP stats.

Also, he is a much better corner OF than CF.
