being from muskegon he hasn't been rated by most of the agencies, here's what ESPN had to say

Strengths:
Davis is an athletic, face-up 4-man with shooting range out to 17 feet. He's long and thin with solid looking basketball frame. His athleticism and motor make him an active player around the hoop. Good rebounder and the potential to be a terrific defender with his length.

Weaknesses:
Improving his game with the ball in his hands should be at the top of his list. Also, he needs to continue to add strength to his lanky frame before he hits the Big Ten.

Bottom Line:
Davis is one of the fastest risers in the country and could end up as a top-50 player with continued development. Once he hits the summer circuit (2014) his recruitment would've exploded. His game and frame are similar to Chris Bosh (Miami Heat). Great land for the Spartans.

The film I've seen on him is very impressive and he looks taller than 6-9.

I'm still bummed that Cliff Alexander sat out when Curie played Muskegon. Would have loved to see how he stacked up against Cliff. Apparently, Cliff chose to sit that game out to serve a one game suspension that he got for getting kicked out of a game earlier in the season. Davis dominated that game. 24 pts 14 rebs and 5 blocks. Really good with the ball for a kid his size. Went behind his back with his dribble a couple times and has a smooth jumper.

So the '15 class is looking real good so far? Top two players in michigan are msu bound as of now right?

I thought Eric Davis was a huge msu lean?

That's assumed because he's from Saginaw but I've read some comments that make me think he's not a good fit for izzo. He wants a more laid back positive coach, izzos been on camera losing his shit on Valentine. I'd prefer if he laid into guys in the locker room and not on camera

Yeah this year more than ever he's been going off on guys. What's the deal? I feel bad sometimes for the guys, especially Valentine. One thing I've noticed is that Izzo never!!!! And I mean never goes crazy on Appling. Is it because he's a senior?

Maybe its because he knows he can get away with it with denzek, izzo is tight w carlton and knew denzel since he was a little kid. The knock against appling has been that he's quiet but izzo says he's as tough of a player as he's ever coached and that says a lot.

It's because's Sparty sucks this year, and Izzo isn't going to put up with that shit.

Not for one fuckin' minute.

we win games due to whining, bad officiating in our favor and other teams missing open shots. we have mediocre coaching and very little talent, i mean, come on, what team actually experiences a drop off from all big ten caliber players to their 9th and 10th guys?

end the program

I'm surprised tiny tot didn't retire after the Michigan loss. After all, that's the only game that matters.

he should have played payne 35 minutes and potentially wrecked the rest of the season. Hell, play dawson too. who's that big of a pussy that they can't play with a broken hand

Deyonta Davis: 17 pts, 28 reb, 16 blocks tonight. Um, yeah, safe to say that this kid is going to be moving up quickly. I was very very impressed with his film. Going to be a McD's All American if he keeps it up.

All against previously undefeated Mt Clemens, Muskegon won 68-59.

28 boards is insane no matter who you're playing, this guy just needs to get a lot stronger

I've seen him play twice this year and his offensive post game needs work. He's got a really nice jumper though if left open. the biggest thing that I've taken from seeing him play is that the game looks effortless to him. Almost to the point that he looks like he's loafing. Then you see the box score and see that he had something like a 20 pt 15 rb 12 blk stat line. If he continues to develop at the rate he did this past offseason he could be a Mcdonalds AA next year.

On a side note, I'm surprised Izzo hasn't had any interest in DeShaun Thrower the pg from Muskegon. That kid is everything Izzo has always loved about a pg. Vocal team leader, lock down defender, can take it to the rim, good shooter, All State QB...etc Hell, he had a triple double in last nights game too.

The limited film I've seen of him, he looks taller than the 6-8 or 6-9 he's listed. Also, although thin, he has the frame to add a ton of weight. And has extremely long arms. His body really reminds me of Anthony Davis, not that he's anywhere close to that level of a prospect, but he has the same body type.

FYI, no one knew who Anthony Davis was before his senior year either, he was a late bloomer who ended up being the #1 player in the country.
