I gotta see this.

here's an interview with the filmmaker.

this was also basically what happened to my dad. politics were not really part of any family discussion prior to the rise of Limbaugh et al. in '92 he even voted for Perot. then he started listening to all that garbage and spent the remainder of the 90's believing we were 60 seconds away from Clinton declaring martial law & the UN black helicopters, and minorities taking your jobs and all that garbage. it was insane.

then in 2000? government was totally cool, no problem whatsoever. nothing Bush did... domestic spying, implementing torture, rolling back due process & habeus corpus... no cause for concern. then in 2009? Watch out... Obama's Americorps has all the makings of a communist plot.

seems a pretty extreme way to get people (gullible idiots maybe, but still people) to vote for you, but I guess they don't care. it does destroy families, and totally fuck up people's minds, but if you get the votes? that's all that matters.

LOL he was going to disown his daughter because she specified "no Republicans please" on her dating site profile.

the worst part is the way it pervades their every thought. NO discussion topic is safe. it really does make you want to avoid contact altogether.

the weather? global warming is a myth created to control business and politics.

how are you feeling? will be a lot better when OBAMACARE is overturned.

watch any sports lately? just a distraction from all the COMMUNISTIC practices of the federal government

etc.

Sounds like my Grandpa.

He was also a big Perot supporter back in the 90s and was very much an independent thinker, voting for the candidate rather than the party. A couple of years ago he found the Fox News channel and now watches it every day...since then he has become a straight-republican voting parrot who thinks Obama was born in Kenya. I actually used to have fun talking politics with him before, now I just avoid it.

All in all it's not as bad as it could be, he could've started listening to Alex Jones.

I don't watch the news anymore, because there isn't any on TV.

My neighbor across the road is the same way. He's always saying something then will back it up with, "if it wasn't true then [Hannity, O'Reilly, etc.] wouldn't be able to say it on tv". I usually counter this with does he think everything Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann ever said was true, and his answer is no, because liberal media allows people to lie, and that's why you can only trust Fox.

And Yes, he is convinced Obama was actually born in Indonesia (not Kenya), and that he wants to take away all guns, make abortions free, and have everyone needing to see a "death panel" before they can go to the doctors or emergency room.

Other than that, he's the nicest guy you could ever meet, just gotta keep him away from talking politics or sports.

At least the dad in the article believed in liberty for Hooters.

I'm definitely in favor of liberated hooters myself.

That is just dumb people that they think whatever others say on TV is the gospel.

A lot of "quick bucks" to be made in documentaries these days?

She gets her name out there. Next she's on Oprah and the view..and suddenly she writes a book and is on 6 episodes of NCIS LA.

I don't see your point.

He's saying she's using this to get rich, expect her to have her own reality show in MTV soon.

Or you know, she could actually have made a documentary about how politics ruined her relationship with her father.

Definitely one of those, could go either way...flip a coin.
