Does anyone want Miles as coach?

1st, I'm assuming that nobody is disputing the facts. Les Miles oversigned with the best of them and dragged out Elliot Porter's commitment clear into the fall, after summer school, after he moved into the dorm.

So where would someone disagree with me?

I see two general reasons you might disagree. 1) I say Miles pushed the envelope when it comes to oversigning and 2) I say Michigan fans shouldn't want a coach that pushed that envelope. Which of those two things does anyone disagree with?

His name keeps popping up and I don't see why. I suppose it's a good thing. The story should keep getting told, because there are always new fans that don't know the story.

If it's a choice between Miles or Hoke, I'd prefer Miles.

If it's between Miles and mid-level up-and-comer coaches, then yeah Miles all day.

If it's between Miles, Harbaughs, and a guy like Dan Mullen, then no.

Really? You want winning back so badly, you're ready to go all SEC if those are the only 2 choices. Then, I'm glad those aren't the only two choices. I think we'd have a split fanbase on that one.

So what part do you disagree with? The first half or the second half? Putting it another way: do you think Miles really doesn't want to do the SEC shady stuff, or do you think he does want to do that stuff to win, but you don't care?

I don't think he would be able to do the SEC shady stuff if he was hired at Michigan. I also think he would behave a lot better as the coach in A2 because he played for Bo so he probably feels a lot more loyalty towards the school rather than LSU, and the Board and Pres would be all over him about what he can and can't do.

So he's just been doing the shady stuff at every stop so he can earn his way to becoming Michigan's head coach and then he'll be a good guy? Riiiiiiiiiiiight...

I didn't say "so he can earn his way." What I am saying is that I don't think the board and the department would let him get away with what he is doing at the SEC.

So instead of an AD that wants to micromanage, you want an AD that has to micromanage.

How much micromanaging would there be?

"Okay Les, we are going to hire you, just make sure you don't do dumb shit. If you do, bye bye."

I just don't think it would be that easy. He doesn't give a crap about the players and he doesn't have the ability to not do stupid stuff. Those two things are a problem in combination.

Don't forget about the stupid shit he says!

If Carr has any truck, Miles will not get miles within AA for the purpose of a job interview.

In order... (names, not some vague "up and comer.")

Mullen
Harbaugh
Harbaugh
Butch Jones
Miles
Schiano
McElwain

MLady

Brady Hoke

Meh on Butch Jones. VERY similar rise through the ranks as Hoke. Turned Ball State into a winner, then turned San Diego State into a solid team to land a job at a major school. He's sucked as Tennessee's head coach so far.

Miles before him all day and twice on Sundays.
