I'll bet Leyland haters loved that!

You sound like others rooted against them.

no, just that an expert praised JL when many on these boards think JL is the worst manager in MLB.

Nothing wrong with questioning some of the moves some of the time.. Look Jim had Inge and Raburn in the line-up for way to long in the first half of the season.... Nothing wrong with a little bashing every now and then... But over the second half Jim has mostly pushed the right buttons... I think they should have pushed for home field but all is good... I have to admit i was on pins and needles last night.... i think I only slept a few hours... i am still really jacked up....

On the ESPN recap of the game, somebody, I think it was fat-ass Kruk, referred to Jimbo as a genious. There are plenty of baseball ppl that think very highly of him.

I might be the only one that thought starting Kelly at 3b was a good idea. He had been hot. Betemit has looked tur-ible. Inge was going to get in for a couple of ABs when he came in for defense, but go with the hot hand.

Postseason heroes and zeroes can on occasion, if not oft-times be those who are the least expected to collapse completely, or perform like an All-Star, obviously.

Never did I think that Renteria would become WS MVP after the season he had with the Tigers, while not horrible, not very impressive either, but some NL players don't seem to do very well in the AL. For a more recent example, Adam Dunn, but I doubt that the White Sox could ever trade him back to the NL for more than a bag of used baseballs now, as well as even eating most of the remaining 3 years of his contract.

i didnt think it was a bad idea to start him, just a bad idea to hit him 2nd. yeah he hit a huge homer, but he struck out his next 3 times up as well and had a lot to do with the offense stalling the rest of the game.

Unbelievable.

Kelly comes through in his 1st AB which ended up being the difference in the game, and he get bashed for his other AB's.

Meanwhile NOBODY else besides Delmon and Victor had a big hit, yet Kelly gets blamed for stalling the offense.

Hate just for hate's sake I guess.

his homer wouldnt have made much difference no matter where in the lineup he was. striking out 3 times in front of the middle of the order did. and yeah the rest of the lineup definitely deserves some blame too (especially ajax and his 3Ks), but we were talking about kelly here.

btw, im not hating on him, just saying it wasnt a great idea to hit him 2nd regardless of the outcome. sometimes doing the wrong thing works out well anyways.

I have to agree with Bob, nothing wrong with bashing the manager on ocassion. It means nothing. Are we suppose to agree 100% of the time with the manager and players? That'd be boring.

And i bet after seeing the rotation that Jimmy is going to throw out against the Rangers is pure genius as well, right? Seeing Porcello "TWICE" in that series instead of Scherzer is sickening. Sometimes doing the unthinkable works at times i guess...lol.

Supposedly the rotation has been updated to:

Game 1: Verlander

Game 2: Scherzer

Game 3: Fister

Game 4: Porcello

Game 5: Verlander

Game 6: Scherzer

Game 7: Fister

Rich what? Richmond![/color]]Anyone know what the Rangers projected rotation is?

On ESPN it says:

Verlander vs. Wilson

Scherzer vs. Holland

Fister vs. Lewis

Porcello vs. Harrison

Then it says undecided for Texas after that.

Same thing with Raburn most of the time.

For me, Inge gets/got the majority of my hate for too many reasons to list. With Raburn I only ever criticize his glove. I just don't like him anywhere in the field. I pretty much accept the rest of the Tigers as is.

All signs point to Porcello starting in game 4 and that's it.

That's because Leyland saw Tony's post and realized he was right so Porcello gets switched to game 4.
