Dr. Seuss's Liberal Agenda

It's Fox news, does not surprise me in the least.

These are the same morons who let 3 or 4 of their guys keep spewing week after week that the terrorists were building a mosque at ground zero, even when people explained to them over and over the fallacy of what they were reporting, even sadder are the mindless idiots who watch them.

I actually have a neighbor who is constantly saying "That's not what Glenn Beck says!" to anything you mention about the news.

FOX News is crazy. The premise, that Dr. Suess's books push a liberal agenda, isn't really incorrect, but it says a lot about the types of people or organizations that flip out over the indoctrination of children. The Lorax is absolutely pro-environment and anti-industrialism/commercialism. (The fact the liberalism owns that topic right now should be an embarrassment to conservatives, but it isn't, at least for the ones in charge.) The Narnia stuff pushes ideas of Christianity, the Golden Compass pushes atheism, and the Soviet Union used to ban all sorts of American children's cartoons for pushing capitalism. Authoritarian governments and paranoid biased news stations flip out more over this kind of thing, but they aren't wrong.

As an aside, has anyone ever seen this:

While I was looking at the secret art...I also ran across this:

Check out 0:55 to 1:00 of this shit....

!!!! Awesome!

Although I wouldn't say you give me the creeps, Your Tinseliness.

... and Fox News pushes bigotry, government war propaganda, regressive socially conservative policies, and advocates for corrupt economically destructive business practices... but you don't see Dr. Seuss taking them to task for it. Jesus H. Christ...

That might have something to do with the fact that Dr. Seuss died five years before Fox News came into existence.

He took them to task for that stuff preemptively. The more Dr. Seuss you read, the more you should reject Fox News.

I never really liked Dr. Seuss' books as a kid. I always considered them a little too goofy for me.

I read Richard Scarry's books instead. A lot of people don't realize it, but despite getting less press than Seuss, Richard Scarry always outsold him.

I had "Cars and Trucks and Things that Go" and the "Please and Thank You" book. I learned not to be like Pig Won't, or a whiner, complainer, bully, fat ass, or Fox News viewer from the latter.

Maybe that's my problem; I watched Sesame Street.

Yeah, that's true too. but see my previous comment. I think reading period, should help kids reject Fox News.

Just think it's annoying when Fox News portrays anything that they disagree with as some sort of "agenda" ... and report on it with the scary background music... Glenn Beck does this stuff too.

Okay, maybe Seuss is pushing an "agenda," but WTF do you think YOURE doing Fox? You're pushing the most odious agenda out there.

I watched Sesame Street too.

I learned the entire alphabet & numbers 1 thru 20 from that show.

What the Hell did Fox News ever teach anyone?

I don't know about 20, but I know I made it to 12.

Well, if you liked Sesame Street, and you love the University of Michigan, check this out.

1:15 - 1:45, 2:20 - 2:50, and 3:20 - 4;00.

Or the whole thing, if you want to either, way.

Wow! He is looking well and sounding great for a guy in his late 70's. Bob and The Arbors did something with the Glee Club around 2000. Very cool.
