I explained at nauseum he didn't deserve 10 million +. I never wanted him tagged, i thought he should get paid, but not 10 mill signed...get it right, shooter. They didn't really have a choice because they never addressed it in the draft or free agency, now did they? They saw him AGAIN on the tag and now they need to make a choice. They already fucked him over and lied to the guy about re-signing this year after coming off his best year last year on the tag. Why would he want to re-sign on this pisshole team anyways? If i were him, i'd tell them to go suck a nut and i'll bet he does. HE'S GONE! While Avril probably goes to a playoff contender and plays decent. Win win for us Lions fans!!

I think Werner is a no brainer. I would like Matt Elam, Eric Reid, Keenan Allen or Barrett jones in the second. We need a ton and they should trade back in the first but I doubt they do.

He played one snap at DE this year. KVB and Willie Young have been atrocious. Avril inconsistent. Lo Jack terrible except for 2 games recently but Jackson is the only one decent in run defense. Lewis has been inactive alot too. Supposed to be a special teams ace. So much for that. 3 special teams tackles.

So Lions lose they are anywhere from 3rd to 5th. Probably 5th as Oakland and Philly play on the road. If they win they are anywhere from 5th to 9th pick.

I'd love to knock the Bears out of the playoffs though even if the Lions pick 9th. Get something rolling for next year.

Agreed hopefully both a QB and Joeckel go top 5 so Detroit gets a DE at 5 out of Jones, Werner or Moore. Milliner would be a great consoliation prize.

Watch out for Mingo and Sam Montgomery too.

The Lions have 60 less hurries than they did last year and 50 of that was was from DE giving less hurries. That will be a little less after one more game but still. DE is a huge need. KVB is absolute junk but he served a purpose in 2010. DT is the Lions have two stud pass rusher. Everyone else regressed big time. Stud DE who is an actual consistent stud DE next to Fairley and Suh and the Lions would force turnovers again like in 2011. Avril's one good year isn't enough to just rely on him and 3 junk DEs. Though Jackson and Young regressed a good amount from last year too. Jackson is solid in run defense is his saving grace to be resigned cheap.

I'm always on the fence about this. Yes I would like the Lions to have a pick at whoever they want at DE. Long term it may be a great thing. But Mayhew better be able to pick a good player at pick 9 just as good as pick 5. If he can't then we are in more trouble than we think. I've seen good DEs go after pick 5 many times.

But I want the Lions to win every game they can. Going 0-6 in the division is miserable. It's either Bears or Vikings I think so it doesn't matter. I guess Vikings could lose to the Pack, we could beat Bears and then Cowboys beat Redskins, might eliminate the Vikings too.

I'll root for the Lions to win but if they lose, I won't be as bummed at least.
