Per Harbaugh presser McCaffrey broke his collarbone

Well that sucks. Hope Patterson stays healthy...

Yeah I bet we wont see much zone read vs Rutgers. I didn't mind Shea running because I have faith in Dylan but now that it is Peters or Milton let's save the QB run plays for when we need them vs OSU and after.

Bad news! Well, Milton has not looked too bad the couple of times he has been in. But yeah Shea needs to stay healthy. I think he will be fine in the next two games, but he makes the difference in the OSU game.

Is he so irrelevant now that you forgot his name? Lol

Yup.
What is it. Isn’t he number 4. I actually can’t remember his name... Thanks for the tv show every damn episode is decent.

Damn his nam is Brandon . Damn that is not even close . I just looked it up lol.

With Peters at least we get a known quantity. He did win us a couple games last year, albeit against lousier teams. In theory he should be a solid replacement, now that we have a better OL.

Given how good we are in pretty much every aspect of the game, our QB doesn't need to be Brett Favre. I'm not worried, although it sucks for McCaffrey. He'll heal up and get his shot though.

I just rewatched the game. Looks like he broke it a couple of plays before the last play. He got up after a short gain his arm was hanging straight down and he reached up and touched his collar bone. The next play was the handoff to Wilson and when he handed the ball off you can see him wince and hold his arm. Then he ran to the sideline and Milton ran in then turned around and came back out and Peters came in.

Well I agree with you in theory, however if we lose Patterson I think it's a HUGE loss. Our offense is more effective right now because we are balanced, and that comes from Patterson. He can throw well, even on the run, and execute the read option extremely well which forces defense to play honest and not cheat against the run. McCaffrey has demonstrated he has a similar skillset. Peters hasn't.

If we have to go to Peters defenses can start to stack the box and focus on stopping Higdon. Need to be very careful with Patterson the next two weeks.

I agree with everything you said; I guess my thinking is, if we're going to have a chance in the playoffs, we need Shea Patterson healthy, period.

He's the only one who gives us a shot at beating top flight competition.

But in the Big Ten, I think we could win with Peters or McCaffrey at QB (I'd rather have Patterson healthy though!)

so which collarbone was it? Does it matter?

That's the same thing I thought of. That and how bad. I looked up the recovery time and depending on how severe it appears it can be anywhere for 4 weeks to 6 months.
