Electoral Scoreboard Thread: Obama 332 - Romney 206

gonna get harder for Republicans to carry the presidential election the more and more diverse this country gets unless they can gravitate closer to the middle. Also Romney may have very well lost himself the election over women's issues similar to how Gore may have very well cost himself the 2000 election over gun rights.

Well the 538 blog is still saying Romney has a 9% chance...so I'm not calling it yet.

Its been awhile since Dems have won with back to back Presidents so if Obama doesn't improve upon his first 4 years the Repub will be favorites initially in 4 years.

I'm half expecting the "rigged voting machines" argument to pop up at some point in the next 24 hours (if it hasn't already).

The thing is, there probably has been some. Both sides I suppose.

Obama currently up 60k in both Virginia and Florida, when all is said and done, he could have 332.

Interesting

I'm really glad my district still has fill-in-the-bubble ballots.

same. i love computers, but theres no way in hell id trust one with my vote. too much can go wrong (on purpose or by accident)

Obama is by no means a popular president and yet he still carried almost every key battleground state. Republicans have to be careful that they don't merely muck up the machine solely to prevent "progress". The bases for both sides won't be moved by that but the Independent vote will be. I'd be willing to bet Romney nearly won the Independent vote (if he didn't in fact win it) this time around. It'll be interesting to see the exit poll demographics. I'm guessing the women vote is ultimately the difference.

That's because they had a shitty guy running who can't seem to talk in public very well.

Funny thing there grandy...where I live in south central PA is a semi-conservative area. It's gradually become more and more democratic, but still a lot of conservatives. After Rush is over on the local AM station it goes to a local radio program. Leading up to the election the host and callers were already talking about the possibility of rigged voting machines and they were all stating about how every time they've heard of rigged machines it seemed like they were rigged for dems (ummm....2000 anyone?). So story breaks today that a neighboring county had a machine where a voter no matter how many times he pressed Obama, as that's who he was voting for, the screen would put a check next to Mittens. These guys didn't know what to do with themselves...kind of like watching Karl Rove after Ohio is called for Barry.

Same

The media loves electronic voting. But I really see no reason to scrap hand counting, at least it's more time consuming to do any voting manipulation that way.

As much as I hate that show, I'm tempted to tape The View tomorrow.

I bet Hasselbeck is having angry sex with a doorknob as we speak and will cry and pee herself tomorrow when Whoopie goes on nonstop about Obama.

They have to do that to keep up with the rigged Florida machines.

If I wasn't conservative I would vote for them just to keep Whoopie quiet. Holy shit I can't stand her..
