Embarrassment

The Defense was atrocious today, the lack of pass rush is concerning, even more so when you consider it's not new problem, Gunther needs to do a better job finding ways to get these guys loose all there is to it,

I like how Schwartz doesn't call out these coordinators in a loss like this. All three of them FAILED. I can't believe that there is actually some talent on this team and they find a way to look worse than the team that went 0-16. I'd like to think that this would light a fire under them but I expect them to do the same next week with everyone trying to be the hero. More penalties. Passive offense, that is until we're down by at least 14 points. Please let someone get fired this week.

maybe SF player was right....DL a little overrated....Avril & KVB = nothing happening

Hate that phrase because its not true. People being over-dramatic

sorry but i actually have to agree with bob. Everyone got all excited cause we had 10 wins last year and a playoff birth. In reality we were a 7 win team that got lucky 3 times. We had a shitty defense last year and what did we do to fix it?? we resigned the same exact guys, drafted another fucking WR (lmao), didnt upgrade our secondary whatsoever and felt content that it was just an anomoloy that we got zero pressure for most of the last part of last year. Welp....were not getting pressure this year either and gunther continues to do absolutely nothing to change that. No stunts, no blitzes....nothing. Why the fuck is he even on the sideline? The offense in the first half was attrocious. Any douchebag off the street can call 3 runs up the guy then punt/kick a fg. the ST play speaks for itself. Then the entire deal with the "we were supposed to call a timeout but i forgot to tell my center." You fuckface...the center snaps the ball you dipshit. The coaches are awful. The general manager is awful. We have some decent players but we dont put them in position to win.

The dumbest part of this whole coaching thing is....the league has replacement officials. Those officials call PI or defensive holding more than ive ever seen in my life. Our football team is built around 2 young studs on offense in staff and CJ. Yet Schwartz or linehan or whoever the hell is wanting to establish this tough guy mentality or something and prove to the other team that were really effing good at running the ball for 3 yards a pop for the entire first half. They did it in the SF game and they did it again yesterday and it got us absolutely no where. Its dumb...plain stupid. More now than ever passing is dominating the game and our offense has consisted of 3 yard runs and 4 yard dump downs until were down in the 2nd half when we finally decide to open it up a bit.

Is Kevin Smith hurt? Why was Bell playing and not Smith? I'm not saying anything would have been any different, but i sure would have trusted K Smith to catch that ball that bell missed on 2nd down....

He was warming up before the game, looked fine and was joking and smiling...idk..Lehoure is better

Lo Jack was a healthy scratch. The DEs have done nothing other than 2 plays

nice to see Avril is earning his $10+ mil? not that suh is earning his all that much better.

this DL needs to step up and play like the Giants DL with the $ they are making. they have to control games. at this rate there is no way avril next year gets what he is demanding and lions will have screwed themselves by not trading him and getting better DBs.

Avril owns Loadholdt. He better continue that this week. The strip sacks aren't there this time. Suh had a hit and a hurry. Teams are throwing quicker passes but the Lions Dline needs to do something. Start batting passes down at least.

Age has caught up with KVB, Young isn't as good as everyone thought and Avril is still a one trick pony that doesn't work if the QB has better pocket protection or the DTs don't get consistent pressure.

That's the thing, teams can make a DLINE non-existing if they throw the ball quickly. And unlike 2-3 years when they'd do the same but short passes against our crappy linebackers they're throwing quick deep passes.

The one pass, I forget which, our guy tried for the INT and then he tried to strip the ball instead of making a tackle. No one tackles anymore.

mitch, are u referring to when wendling dove for the INT and missed and lacey had his back to the ball while the titan WR caught it off lacey's back then lacey turns around to see what happened only to discover nothing is behind him while the WR runs on down the field for the TD? or are you referring to another play out of the myriad of breakdowns in DB play and lack of tackling? after a while they tend to blend together to me.

Lol, no not that one. All I remember is one of our guys went for the INT and then failed strip attempt instead of tackling before he ran the last 40 yards for a TD.

Are you referring to when Jared Cook, their tight end, caught a pass over the middle and got away from 2 of our guys for a touchdown?

There's 378 reasons why our secondary sucked on sun.....pick any of them

i got 99 problems but good D ain't one...

...it's MORE than just one

once again, O is in top 10 while D is in bottom 10 of PF/PA. if the D could just do their job then this team would be Super Bowl contenders. y is it so f'ing hard for them to get a D together, especially since Schwartz is a D guy????? they should have figured this out already as this is year 4. they are on pace to give up even more points this year than last while scoring less.

regression, thy name is "Detroit Lions the year after making playoffs"
