This is very sad news, and I wish and hope for Mr. Carter's cancer would go into remission, but very unlikely given his advanced age of 90 and the apparent spread. He has led a very long and fruitful life and he most certainly is an honorable, compassionate, intelligent, unselfish, and humble human being that the civilized world will soon be losing.

Unfortunately, there are many uncivilized assholes who are tweeting their glee and celebrating this news.

Including Debbie Slushell who tweeted:

"A cancer has cancer. Oops, I mean, Jimmy Carter has cancer. Same diff." and "Only the Good Die Young: Jimmy Carter, 90, Has Cancer. So Sad, Too Bad"

She is mad 'cuz several tweeted their utter disgust @ her by calling Debbie a cunt.

I understand that many think that Carter was a poor POTUS, but he wasn't a fucking lying ignoramus like Dubya and a war-profiting tyrant like his VP Cheney. Both of whom I consider to be fugitive war criminals.

Very sad news, indeed. He's done more good for humanity after leaving office than any president could hope to do in office. If it ends poorly, I hope he doesn't have to suffer. The man has earned a peaceful death.

I'm too young to know him as president, but he's still a person. I wouldn't wish cancer on anybody.

Sluthell was only 7 when Carter took office in '77 and 11 when he left. Not even a teenager yet. Don't get the vile bile that this shrieking shrew spewed out about him.

I can still recall watching JFK's funeral on our B&W TV back in '63, and our grade school's air-raid drills during the Cuban missile crisis (fat lotta good THAT would have been, if Detroit had actually been nuked...dlol.)

But for any real effect on my life, it began with Jerry Ford, an ex-UM alum & un-elected Republican POTUS, who I really liked, as well as our longtime governor Bill Milliken who is still kicking @ age 93.

President Carter has lived a good and long life.

He's been living in the bonus for quite sometime.

I wish him the best for the rest of his days on earth, and also for whatever the Universe has for him afterward.
