FAIRLEY PLAYING THIS WEEK

Thats good news.

Im not expecting much out of him, but it will be huge for him to get his feet wet and experience the speed and physicality of the game first hand before he goes up against the bears on MNF

Nick Fairley - DL - Lions

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Lions are "hopeful" rookie DT Nick Fairley (foot) can make his debut in Week 4 against Dallas.
Fairley practiced last Friday for the first time since suffering a stress fracture in his foot in early August. The team won't look to rush its first-round pick back, but news this early in the week that he's close to returning certainly doesn't hurt his chance of seeing time on Sunday.

I just hope that motherfucker is all the way healthy. It would really grind my gears if he was in for about 2 plays and hobbled off the field aggravating an injury or something

As opposed to 100% healthy and agrravating an injury after 2 plays? Injuries can happen all the time. If he can play I want him in there, 100% or 80%.

injuries are much more likely to happen when already aggravated. let the guy heal fully.

Concussion? Who cares! Throw em out there woozy! Hamstring? Groin? Who Cares! Go full speed! Open it up and push it as hard as you can right? Common sense is so rare these days...

No one is 100% dude. Not after play 1. He's healthy enough to practice in full pads he's healthy enough to play. He'll just be a bit rusty but he's fine or else he wouldn't be practicing in FULL PADS.

Everything isn't always black and white and you shouldn't act sure about things you're making assumptions about.

Mitch[/color]]Nor should you.

I didn't think I was, if I did, I didn't state my opinion clearly then.

As for Fairley, Schwartz still hasn't committed to him playing. Lions are always overly secretive about that kind of stuff though.

He missed practice today so not sure if he will play. I think we should wait till the bear game to play him.

ESPN reported that Schawrtz said he had a "slim" chance of playing for what thats worth

He won't play this Sunday :( . I expect they unleash the big dog on Monday night versus the Bears :)

Fairley missed practice because of the trainers scheduled day off for him.

Are you Fairley certain he'll play?
