I don't really like Aronofsky's movies. Requiem was okay, but I made the mistake of renting "Pi." granted, it was a low budget, indie flick, but the plot, dialog, and filming were all so retarded and irritating I refuse to ever see any of his movies again. I swear, just watching that movie gave me a headache.....

Pretty sure that was the point, as headaches were central to the story. My girlfriend at the time who suffers from migraine headaches said that movie was the closest representation of what a migraine feels like that she's ever experienced. She hated the movie, of course.

I watched a few of those too, when I was much younger, and was mesmerized by scenes of big monsters smashing things.

Did you see that new movie with Hugh Jackman where he plays a guy who builds a robot that fights other robots in a boxing ring? I think it's called "Robot Smash Other Robot." You would probably like it.

Im glad someone mentioned Kurosawa on this list. He may be one of the great directors of all time but he isnt respected as much in america. Also I love Sergio Leone I mean he made three of my favorite westerns of all time.

that was directly based on Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai"

Actually, pretty much every movie where a protagonist assembles a team, introduces each team member 1 by 1, and then they go do something... defend a village, rob a casino, kill some guy, etc. took the concept from The Seven Samurai.
