Former Detroit Tigers All-Star hitter Rusty Staub dies at 73

Pretty good clutch hitter in his day. RIP.

RIP Rusty . He is the type of hitter I would love the a tigers to build around for his batting skills. I would love obp guys and gap to gap guys that can spray the field . Comerica Park is such a triple haven that we could so take advantage of with obp and speed guys who play defense . It would be a fun brand of baseball. Heck Nick had 10 triples and the Tigers last year and the Tigers were 2nd in the AL in triples last year. Now Rusty was pretty slow but hell I would take 2716 hits and .362 obp all day everyday!!!!

When I first read this I thought of Rusty Kuntz. I never heard of this guy.
