Tigers coaching staff to return in 2019, including pitching coach Rick Anderson.
Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said all members of his coaching staff would return in 2019, including Rick Anderson as pitching coach.

Fulmer turning into an injury-prone bust...oh well...the Tigers have some promising SPs coming up through the pipe over the next several years, hopefully a few will turn out to be very good, if not stars.

Zimmermann scuffling in the 4th, 74 pitches, 5-0 Twins. Fails to cover 1st, 2 on 2 out....annnd he gone. How many more years are the Tigers stuck with this overpaid bum?

Top of the 4th,

twins lead 1 - 0,

didn't take long for Zimmermann to Zimmersucks,

twin 5 - 0,

Rosario crumples fielding Adduci's hit to LF, Nick C scores, Tigers get on the board 5-1.

Siddown Grossman, Renninger got ya on strikes.

Cave Ks swinging.

Forsythe walks.

Kepler flys to CF....could have used Renninger last inning.

50 Years Ago Today: September 17, 1968: Detroit clinches the American League pennant with a 2 - 1 win over the Yankees.
Detroit is ahead 1 - 0 when Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey phones Tiger general manager Jim Campbell with the news that the Sox have beaten the Orioles, clinching the pennant for the Tigers.
Campbell keeps the score off the radio and the scoreboard, fearing the news will send fans rampaging onto the field.
Don Wert singles home PH Al Kaline who walked earlier in the inning with the winner in the 9th and the fans tear down the left field screen.

Hard to win when only one person hits. Really hard to win when your 20+ million pitcher rolls over and stick all 4 up.

So this team is rebuilding around a all most has been,25+m; over paid, injury, to slow, need to DH, need to make a come back,30+ m; an injury prone pitcher, and how many games have they scored less runs than 3 this season? I've given up counting.
I'll say this one more time the offense was not broken. It was the bull pen. Now Tigers have to fix starting pitching, relief, closer, the offense, the farm.

Great video, KC. Never seen it. That's awesome. Never seen so many people excited. The team was absolutely loaded. Trying to open up that bottle for 15 minutes, lol.

Glad you liked it Mitch.
Many Tigers videos on youtube. While watching it, Eddie Mathews was the only other Hall Of Famer on the team, and he was at the end of his great career.
Also, so many of them are now gone 50 years later. The remaining member of the team who were at the celebration at Comerica, one of the coaches was still living, Hal Naragon.
