Game 55 Pittsburgh Pirates @ Detroit Tigers May 29, 2024 4:00 p.m. EST (Game 2 of 2)

Vierling ends the 3rd with an 11 pitch at bat.
Montero 60 pitches after 3 IP, Skenes, 57 pitches after 3 IP.

3 - 1.

Montero with a pretty meh debut. Pretty good stuff. Just made a couple mistake pitches that were drilled. Almost into the Pitt bullpen. Maybe we can get a comeback win.

Lazy ass baddoo turns a single into a double in lf. Bench his ass!!! Tell me more about Malloy's defense

Fully healthy bullpen in a 3 run game and they send Wentz back out there for a 3rd inning. Guess we're just waving the white flag on this one

Well, this game sucked. Now they come to boston for 4 games. I don't think Skubal pitches in the series.
Probably get swept by the blowsox.

Boxscore.

Double header draw: Tigers call it a draw with the Pirates as they split the series 1-1.
A good day to play two, indeed.

BP has been a big let down this month. At least we got one. Not even going to criticize Tork's offense we've done that to death.

Two small Pieces of advice for the Detroit Tigers as they tread water yet again.
1. Figure out if you have overrated your hitters or do you have a weak group of hitting coaches cause it’s one or the other..Everybody can’t always be late.
2. Adopt the concept the Lions seemingly have perfected under Holmes and Campbell identify the culture and types of player that culture requires to succeed. The Tjgers have very few young cornerstone players.. good teams have multiple.beyond Skubal.. not much.
