Need to keep it going against a not so good team. Need a series win.

8-0 blowout in progress.

White flag VerHagen relieved Saupold.

2-0 strike call on candy was so bad thier catcher even started to go to the mound before stopping in his tracks to say really holy shit then proceeded to take a mound visit anyway

Boxscore.

WORTH NOTING

* Tigers right-hander Drew VerHagen left the game in the seventh inning after being hit in the face by a baseball. VerHagen was racing to cover first base in attempt to complete a double play, but he missed the throw from Jose Iglesias. The ball appeared to hit him in the nose. He departed with Tigers head athletic trainer Kevin Rand.
The Tigers said VerHagen had a nasal contusion and was undergoing X-rays to verify that there was no fracture.

VerHagen likely to DL with broken nose.

* Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias stole his 12th base of the season in the fifth inning, setting a new career high in just 70 games.

He stole 11 bases in 2015 but was caught eight times. He's been nabbed only three times this year.

Not so fun facts:
The Tigers could not take advantage of the small confines of Great American Ballpark and a struggling Sal Romano, who was giving up 1.6 home runs per nine innings coming into the game. In fact, the Tigers could not make much hard contact all night in the air. They only managed four hits off Romano, all singles, while walking four times but striking out six times.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 7-21 in all locations not named Comerica Park or Guaranteed Rate Field.
