He's probably just nauseous from watching this lineup attempt to hit behind him.

And the Tigers take over sole possession of last place by percentage points. Congrats boys!!

Had to do other things today. Doctor's appointment for wife. Did not see the game. Question do the Tigers batters take bats into the batters box with them, when they hit? And are they solid wooden ones or pencil width?

Maybe they should emulate the late Norm Cash, and each could bring out one of the clubhouse table-legs when its their turn to bat.

The royals tried very hard to protect their position in the ALCD cellar for many weeks, but the fangless Felines just wouldn't be denied!!

Sorry to be late with the game thread,

I must now question whether this turdblossom of a team even deserves an official game thread w/lineups and pregame links...maybe just post the topic game date, teams, and number, then whoever chooses to, could comment on how badly that they sucked ass once again.

Tigers sign RHP Trevor Rosenthal to minor league deal.
Rosenthal gave up 16 runs in 6 1⁄3 innings with the Washington Nationals this year.
BYBTB

The Detroit Tigers have signed right-handed reliever Trevor Rosenthal to a minor league contract, according to a report from MLB Network?s Jon Heyman. Rosenthal signed a one-year deal with the Washington Nationals last fall after missing the entire 2018 season, but was released last week after allowing 16 runs in 12 appearances with the Nationals.

Rosenthal was previously an All-Star closer with the St. Louis Cardinals.
He notched 121 saves in six seasons with the Cardinals, and managed a 2.99 ERA in 325 innings. He struck out 435 batters to 143 walks, and produced
5.9 rWAR. He made the 2015 National League All-Star team, and finished
17th in NL MVP voting that year.

Unfortunately, those years may be long gone. Rosenthal missed the entire 2018 season after having Tommy John surgery in August 2017. He signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Nationals last November, but was a trainwreck in the Nats? bullpen, to put it lightly. Rosenthal walked 15 hitters and gave up 16 runs in just 6 1⁄3 innings in Washington. He didn?t even record an out until his fifth appearance of the season, a story that received national attention for all the wrong reasons. He made it through a full inning in each of his next three appearances, but also gave up five runs during that stretch, so the Nationals sent him to the minors to get right. He struck out 11 hitters in 9 1⁄3 innings with Double-A Harrisburg... but also gave up a 5.79 ERA.

Still, the Nationals recalled him at the beginning of June, and he managed a 2.70 ERA in his first four appearances after rejoining the big league club.
But he walked three batters without recording an out on June 22, and was released by the Nationals the next day.

Sounds like Greene on the market.

Since May 8th (16-17)

10-33.233 WPCT (BAL worst)

144 Runs Scored (worst in MLB) = 3.35 R/G (worst in MLB)

*next team (KCR) has 22 more runs and 3.86 R/G

264 Runs Allowed (26th in MLB) = 6.14 R/G (28th in MLB)

-120 Run Differential (29th in MLB)
BAL is -122

Pythagorean W-L% = .248 WPCT (worst in MLB)

Currently 26-50

At the above rate(s), they are destined to finish around 46-116. So what happens if they trade Greene, Boyd and/or Castellanos?

Any consolation is that BAL has a worse draft record and more failures with 1st round picks. Here is hoping they haven't changed.
