A QB contract is the LEAST of a teams worries. All it takes is 1 GM in need of a qb who believes Stafford can be a franchise qb and they'll overpay.

13 sacks in the last two games, and this one isn't even over yet. QB has been hit almost 30 times in those games.

That's no where near the only problem, but if it was the only problem, it would be enough to explain this.
