Three things to know about this game:
If there's a player who isn't looking forward to the turn of the calendar from June to July, it's probably Zimmermann.
His career 4.08 ERA in July is markedly worse than his 2.71 mark in June. Last season, he missed the whole month of July with a neck injury that plagued the rest of his season once he returned in August.
Cleveland's bullpen has an MLB-best 2.57 ERA. Detroit's 'pen, on the other hand, ranks last with a 5.15 ERA.
Carrasco is tied for eighth in the Majors in barrels per batted ball event (9.4 percent) among pitchers with at least 190 batted ball events, according to Statcast. Zimmermann is not far behind, at 8.8 percent (tied for 12th).
