Reliever Drew VerHagen is returning to the Detroit Tigers three weeks after he was hit in the face by a throw and broke his nose.

VerHagen will be activated from the disabled list on Monday before the Tigers play the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

To make room for VerHagen, the Tigers optioned right-hander Artie Lewicki to Toledo.
