While I am glad both Jackson and Avila were among the finalists, where is Jhonny? I can see both reasons for Aybar and Hardy but Asdrubal has no reason to be a finalist.
Only if you only watch Baseball Tonight for your information. Yes, Asdrubal had some great defensive highlights. But Jhonny dominates him statistically. Jhonny had less than half the errors than Asdrubal while only having 9 fewer chances all year.
The Gold Glove commitee should be ashamed of themselves. Last year Jeter and now this.

For the first time --
ESPN2 will televise the "Rawlings Gold Glove Awards Show" at 10 tonight. It's a 1-hour show. Tigers in contention are catcher Alex Avila and centerfielder Austin Jackson. So expect to see Jackson's double-play throw to the plate and sparks flying off Avila's mask.

I don't remember too many instances where the guy who got the heisman wasn't deserving of consideration. Maybe a difference of opinion in who I thought should have won but not like the guy who won shouldn't have.

GG and now Silver slugger are useless. A defensive award where the best defensive players don't win, lol. And how Cabrera didn't win the SS is behind me. Doesn't surprise me but wtf?

I thought Aybar deserved the GG this year, even over Peralta. He consistently makes plays that are flat-out amazing. So it's not that big a deal that Peralta wasn't a finalist in my view.
