Government Issued Phones (obamaphones)

it makes sense to complain about this program - even though the amount spent can not conceivably be more than a drop in the bucket of the federal budget, and unlike foreign aid or the 100's of military bases in Afghanistan and Africa (and let's not forget about the abandoned ones in Iraq), the money for "obamaphones" is spent domestically and benefits American citizens - if you're stupid and have no sense of what is really going on.

Wait, how can you tell if it's a government issued phone?

He can't. It's a right wing talking points rant.

5 minutes of google searching would have told him all he needed to know on the subject.

And it's funny he's not bitching about the US Mail still running, or Social Security, Medicare, Boarder Patrols, meals on wheels, etc.

No, he's complaining poor people have phones, which maybe is necessary for them, they have to call to make doctors appointments for their kids, leave a number on job applications, be able to communicate with relatives, babysitters, etc.

And the phones are limited to 250 call minutes, and 250 text messages each month, and 1 per household which is ties to the same SS number that got you assistance in the first place, which also limits it to 1 per household (everyone in that household shares the 250/250) but it's totally unregulated!

And on top of that he's made up a bunch of stuff to try to make his argument against the phones more valid. I actually have pity for him.

You have taken this wait off hand. I have a problem with a lot, and this was a simple question. Its typical left wing pussy bull shit that cant call it like they see it. I know I know It all for the children, itll be ok. Just raise up the debt ceiling.

So we can agree that I as a pussy left winger, can't call it like I see it, but you, as a right-wing nutcase, are willing to falsify the facts to make your point.

You think I got a shot?

The whole cop thing is starting to become boring to me, makes me dislike people more than I used to.

And for the record I don't think any less of you, I don't know you and never will. (more than likely) You have your opinions and I have mine, and opinions are like assholes everyone has one. Also to just to add I vote independent, believe it or not I have voted for many democrat candidates over the years. I typically lean right but not a hard right. Although I believe we as the United States needs to start cutting back everywhere. There is not a section in the US that cant stand some type of cut that would be beneficial to slowing the rising debt, cell phones included. Last point, I don't think anyone who works on capital hill should be getting paid while the government shutdown is going on, and I would put that ahead of the cell phones. Sherrod Brown from OH, who I voted for is giving his salary to charity (he says) while the government shutdown is going on. That will probably earn my vote in the further. I wonder if he turned off his phone?

All and I mean All my information has come from people I have come in contact with and talked to personally. Most of them as they are going into jail carrying 2-3 cell phones. I used to find it odd to carry more than 1, but its kind of a normal situation now. I know longer even ask.

the avg. American relies on government to provide him with basic services that he could not afford for himself, or if they were not provided on a collectivised basis (like electricity).

for the avg. American to argue that these services / subsidies need to be cut, along with taxes, esp. for those in the top brackets, is insane, and quite contrary to his interests and those of the country and economy at large, and also contrary to all economic data, which does not show that debt or the deficit is a problem in any sense of the word.

yet the fact that he does, and that he holds the concept that the debt/deficit is out of control in his mind as a fundamental truth...

well, that's what keeps politicians in business...
