Voting will be open thru Friday...unless it's a blowout.

A-Rod has played more games at short, so he is here. When it's over, he'll be a third baseman.

Oh shoot. I completely forgot Vizquel. Sorry! Oh well, he's not as good as anyone already listed anyway.

Tram is better than Ozzie and Vizguel. Not seven close. Its a sham he's not in the hall.

BS

reality. He's become a stat compiler in old age. In his younger days, he was all-star quality, but nothing more.

Because I think Tram is better than those two? Try to go back in your memory bank and remember.

My take on the candidates...

Ripken: Revolutionized the position, made it possible for the A-Rods of the world to play SS. 3000/400 man, 2632 is ridiculous. His impact has been marginalized by folks that quite frankly, are clueless. 2x MVP

Ozzie: Overrated. He did learn to hit when he got older and was the best defender of all time.

Yount: Along with Ripken revolutionized the position. Won MVP at 2 positions like Greenberg.

Larkin: Best SS between Ripken/Yount/Tram and the Jeter/Arod/Nomar group. 1995 MVP

Tram: We all know Tram well. WS MVP, the real MVP in 1987. He's been lost in the Yount/Ripken shadow in the way Santo's been lost in the shadow of Brooks Robinson and Mike Schmidt.

Jeter: First Yank with 3000 hits, the Captain, WS MVP, ASG MVP, Prime time player.

Nomar: In his prime, he was one of the best hitting SS ever

A-Rod: Steroids have clouded his legacy. He will eventually be remembered as a 3b and I have a feeling people will overlook his steroid transgression if he passes Bonds and he does not have any other controversies. At one point, people thought he might be the best SS ever.

Omar Vizquel: Nice player. Good fielder. Good Hitter. Not in the same league as the others. Perhaps a Hall of Very Good-er.

Tram-4
A-Rod-2
Ozzie/Cal/Omar V-1

No change in the vote. I will leave the vote open for awhile since it is Turkey Day. Will close it tomorrow sometime.

Still Tram-4
A-Rod-2
Ozzie/Ripken/Vizquel-1

I never look at all star and gold glove. Popularity for one, guys like Ripken were voted in on bad years and the GG, believe it or not isn't about fielding. Even back then.
