Eight Mile? okay whatever. just no more Journey, Bon Jovi, etc.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is a great song, with strong ties to the Great Lakes region and Michigan in particular. And Edmund Fitzgerald, the son of the ship's namesake, was a Michigan alum (I once posted a thread about him that NO ONE cared about).

But I agree - I also don't think the song really conveys the right mindset before a game. especially since its about a big ship sinking, and metaphorically speaking, Michigan football is one of the "big ships" of college football.

Oh, yeah right ...as if Journey and "Born in raised in SOUTH Detroit!!!!" is going away any time soon ....

Harbaugh didn't include Kid Rock.

That surprises me.

When he's not in Malibu he lives in his hometown of Clarkston.

EDIT: Seriously, Michigan is one of the, if not the, most musically rich states in the country.

Here's Wikipedia's article on Music of Michigan.

Plenty of upbeat rah rah sounding choices.

I thought that Marshall Mathers song from Eight Mile has already been being played at the games for years.

Needs more Motown

Should be mostly motown, a lot of Stevie Wonder, and a smattering of White Stripes, Bob Seger, Eminem, The Stooges, and MC5. Actually not much White Stripes, just the intro to 7 Nation Army.

No Nugent, Kid Rock, or Journey. NO NO NO Bon Jovi.

You know who else among Detroit bands I would love hearing? Electric 6. they fucking rock.

I like the one Jack White solo album I have. Would like more.

Got I have some Aretha Franklin and the Supremes.

I have listened to a lot of his music, and have concluded he is way overrated. Go to Spartan Stadium if you want to hear more White Stripes/Jack White.

no other Electric 6 fans here? not even Death Roh?

I was kinda late to the party with them, but I realized they are a Detroit treasure.

Stadium play portion of Aretha's THINK! when opposing teams are going for it on 4th Down ....

RESPECT! after stopping them ...

Could play some Xzibit. Most people don't know he was born in Detroit.

Then he could drive Harbaugh onto the field in a special one off episode of Pimp My Ride.

if someone gets hurt and taken off on an injury cart, he could pimp their injury cart to raise their spirits.

I'd cheer extra hard for that if I was there

boo champ

booooooooooooooooooooooooo

You're confusing Jack with Kid Rock, I think.

The Von Bondies have some good songs. C'mon C'mon is their big hit, but I like a bunch of their stuff. Broken Man is a great song.
