He gone

Meh. By the time the Knicks are relevant again Monroe would have retired. I'd be curious why Monroe would want to go there? Just the money?

I think the Knicks are about done with all of those shitty contracts and will have some cap space available. NY is still a very popular place for athletes. If management can pull their heads out of their asses the Knicks can be a playoff contender as soon if not earlier than the Pistons.

Fully, 100 percent disagree with that. The Knicks are a travesty of a franchise. As long as they have Carmelo on that team, they will NEVER win.

I don't really get why they are seen as such a great, historic franchise. They have two titles, both of which were in the early 70s.

1 good season in the last 15. Maybe people still want to play in NY, well it hasn't helped much this century. It depends if Monroe or anyone else wants the biggest paycheck or a chance to win a title. You can always tell once a superstar signs with another club?

I actually want Monroe to leave.

I think he doesn't fit the system like SVG would like.

Personally, I really like Monroe. If he stays, great... If not, we have top figure out how to replace him. Either way works for me as long as they don't overpay to retain him.

The NBA is very easy to figure out. If youre a shitty team that continues to pick in the 8-10 range....you will continue to be a shitty team. When youre a shitty team drafting in the 8-10 range and you lose your 2nd best player.....youre still a shitty team but atleast you have hope to get a pick in the top 5 the following year.

Monroe is open to NY because NY has the money to give him the max. That seems pretty simple. It's not like he came out and offered NY as a great situation. He was asked a question and answered it as politically as possible.

I'd love to keep our good players if we can. Monroe is a good player, and the team has been better when he plays. If we lose him, obviously nothing to do about it. But good teams don't lose their young players for nothing. And only really bad teams continue to pick high for so long that they lose the good young players they already have/had.

Translation: I'm all about the money. Most are but makes little sense..take less and go to a contender.
