Should I go?
Tickets might not be easy, with Sparty not having gone in so many years...and with all those rich Spartans turning their pool cleaning and landscaping businesses into multi-million and even billion dollar operations, like that Sparty dude who bought the Pistons, wanting to gobble up them tickets...
Not like Michigan's third Rose Bowl in the course of four years, only a few short years ago...when the Michigan Athletic Department and Conlin Travel practically paying me to take the tickets...
So....
Should I go?
Should I think about it?
Last time Sparty was in the Rose Bowl...I was living in Pasadena, just a block away from Colorado Blvd...
So I and my lady friend at the time (she's now Sharon Osbourne's sister in law) walked up to Colorado Blvd. to see the Rose Parade...
We stopped into a bar on the corner of Colorado Blvd. and whatever, and there were two old motherfuckin' Buckeyes there (they were old to me at the time; they were probably the age that I am now - that's how long it's been since Sparty's been in the Rose Bowl) for whatever reason; and I sang the Glee Club version of Carmen Ohio* (notice, not Carmen Ohio State) which ends with "Ohio takes it in the ass."
Sparty won that day.
And a certain person had their way with a certain drunkenly unconcious person in an apartment near Colorado Blvd. before the day was over.
And the apartment was mine...
Except...
I was the drunkenly unconscious person was me.
And that's how long it's been since Sparty has been to the Rose Bowl.
When I was young enough that a woman was able to have her way with me, even while I was drunkenly unconscious.
When I came to, she told me what had happened, and she said she was quite impressed.
And that's how long it's been, since Sparty has been to the Rose Bowl.
