Both his Dad's hires (Holland, and Avila) maybe Chris I. doesn't know enough to make a move and get a different guy?

As far as Holland goes I'm not sure what else he could have done.. You guys probably know more but are his recent draft's bad? As far as older team and trading for vets for years I'm not sure that's not a MR I. situation. He won for years, and won Cups for us.. Eventually that was going to hit us.

I remember for about two years everyone seemed to want the Tigers to fire Smokes. When he was gone we all wished he was back. The other side isn't always greener.

I like some of the young players we have.. Draft well - get a defensive presence - and a top notch goalie somewhere. The problem will getting a new GM we could get a Millen type. New coach it might be Brad Ausmus, or SVG.

Yes, probably some of the trade deadline moves were to appease ownership.

And to Holland's credit he tried to warn fans a couple years ago that playoffs every year will not go on forever and that fans should lower their expectations. Had quite a backlash from the fans. Think it was after the Boston series few years ago.


I'll be the first one to throw shit at Holland. But lets be honest, there is the public face that someone in his position must hold. It may not necesarially match his personal opinion. Politics of balancing fan and ownership expectations and the such.

Think most the heat from Holland is based on emotions rather than objective thought.
