Playing video games is one of the biggest hobbies out there. Many people prefer gaming as a way to relax.

For the last nearly 10 years, I have spent ~$900 on video games and additional in-game items. For some, it's a lot, for others, it's not.

How much have you spent in total?

I have been playing video games since I was young. Most of the games and consoles and such when I was younger my parents or family members paid for but since getting older and buying my own games and consoles, I can only imagine how much I have spent over the years.

I would say over the years I have spent close to if not over £1000 on gaming. It can be a very expensive hobby :D

Not being a big gamer myself, I have only spent money on video games for my kids when they were younger.

I will occasionally purchase things on mobile games I play frequently but that is a once every so often thing I do.

I wouldn't be able to say how much I have spent on gaming over the years but it's for sure in the $100's if not more. I have bought a lot of games and gaming-related items in the past.

I'm a casual gambler i do gamble occasionally. I don't want to be an addict because the act is really addictive but I lose a lot any way. So I'm being cautious about it.

The total amount that I have cumulatively spent on consoles is more $10,000. Not to talk of gaming accessories too.

This is not a lot by any standard assuming you mean a total of $900 over 10 years.

For me these days I wait for big discounts (either on PSN or Steam) or games to go on PS+. Free games are the best games. Only suckers pay full price. No one needs to by a game on day 1. If it's good it'll still be good in 6 months or a year.
