I have a friend who teaches at Hudson. He told me that at the half Addison lead 8-6. After the half, Hudson went all Remember the Titans on their old rival and didn't allow a 1st down the rest of the game.

Hudson is definitely favored the rest of the way.

Looks like Hudson won tonight 8-0. Don't know any details yet though.

That defense is intensely good. When Addison scored 8 points last week, those marked the only points a Div 8 team had scored on them this year. The other 62 points were mostly Div 6 teams that they still beat, including Clinton which is making a good run in the Div 6 playoffs this year.

Tough to lose when the defense doesn't allow opponents to score. Not impossible, but tough.

Updated game info, White Pigeon did not get a 1st down in the first half, but Hudson was struggling to run the ball. Switching to passing yielded their touchdown, but they failed on their 2 pt try... but the defense got a Safety later to make up for it.

I?d say the last four teams Ubly 12 vs Beal city 11-1
Hudson 12-0 verses probably Ottawa Lake Whitford 10-1 or Clarkston Everest Collegiate 9-2.
I think whirford is pretty good if they are the team I remember.
Some good teams still left !

Ottawa was definitely a legit challenge for Hudson. They were up 22-0 at the half. Hudson's defense played their style in the 2nd half and their offense took advantage. It still required a late goal line stand to win the game.

Hudson's DC should join UM and help them make better in game a d halftime adjustments. Pretty impressive how they have shutdown other teams after halftime.

Preview

Division 8.

Hudson

https://michigan-football.com/f/hudson.htm

Great matchup between two public school teams. Hudson is 485-202-8 since 1950. With. School enrollment of 269 they are a tad bigger. They are 1-3 in championship games last winning 28-26 over Ishpeming in 2010. They are 13-0 this season and are out scoring opponents 422/92 and they have 7 shutouts including 2 in the playoffs.
Past finals
2010 28-26 win over Ishpeming in D-7.
2009 42-8 loss against Traverse City St. Francis in D-7.
2003 28-14 loss against Traverse City St. Francis in D-7.
1975 38-22 loss against Ishpeming Class C Final.
(I think this loss stopped the long winning streak).

Beal City

https://michigan-football.com/f/bealcity.htm

Beal City has a enrollment of 229 and they are 12-1 on the season and they are 496-215-3 since 1950 . Holy crap that?s 981-417-11 between the two teams. They are our scoring teams 428/102 this season and they have 5 shutout this season (one a forfeit). They are 2-6 in championship games all time last winning in 2009..

All in Division 8 unless noted.

2019. 33-6 loss to Reading.
2013. 35-12 loss to Muskegon Catholic Central.
2012. 35-10 loss to Harbor Beach.
2009. 41-23 win over Crystal Fall Forest Park.
2003. 20-9 loss over Detroit DePorres (DD closed after 2004)
2001. 20-0 loss over Mendon.
1994. 35-14 win over Litchfield. (Class D Final).
1987. 21-0 loss against Martin. (Class D Final).

Game should be a close one I think but Hudson looks the Superior team.
Hudson -4
(Bob?s kiss of death).

One interesting thing. Hudson smashed D7 power Ithaca 59-14 early in the season and Beal City?s only loss
Was a tough 21-20 over D7 Ravenna.

Sadly my updates today will stop at 11:45 am as I have Ron work my stupid part time job sadly.

Both teams have had the ball. Beal City went 3 and out. Hudson had a 11 play drive stopped on 4th down at Beal City 41. Both defenses look pretty tough Hudson allowing only 92 points and Beal City only 102 points. Beal City goes 3 and out on second drive but gets a long punt to Hudson 6. Hudson gets stuffed and goes 3 and out and half to punt from the end zone Beal City ball at Hudson 49 yard line?Beal City strikes first with 49 yard td pass. 7-0 Beal city. Since both teams are running teams the team that can flip field position and complete some passes will probably have a really good chance to win. Hudson may be in trouble. Have to punt again. Beal City completes a 4th and 7 at Hudson?s 29 yard line for 19 yards. Hudson getting no pass rush at all. Beal city has a 4th and goal at the 7 and misses the short field goal attempt. Hudson really needed that stop badly. Best Hudson drive . First and 10 at BC 15 but only 30 seconds left in half. Not a fan of dive play on first down.second down easy pass interference call. First goal at five and Hudson runs in for a td with 14 seconds left. They must not have a kicker because after a penalty they still went for 2 point conversion. Nice pitch and catch from the 7. Hudson leads 8-7 . 11 plays 80 yards. LOL Hudson isn?t read for a long pass play. What bad defense by Hudson. Lucky clock ran off after pass play on the next play. Wr was wide open. Poor pass. ?Sorry my updates end here. Looks like a great finish in store. I can post final scores later.

Final score

Defense struggle. Beal City stopped Hudson Multiple times in the red zone in the second half. After Beal City's starting qb went down Hudson Defense clamped down.

Hudson did not allow any 2nd half points in the last 7 games. In several of those they didn't even allow a 1st down. Still Beal City was a strong and worthy opponent.

Very happy that Hudson won. They are a very good group of kids on and off the field from what I hear.
