I clicked a couple of the college football previews on espn.com.

That would make you dumber:

Herbstreit - SEC, blah blah blah, Speed, Blah Blah Blah. Big ten needs to catch up, blah blah

Holtz - Notre Dame #1, slobber slobber slobber

Rittenberg - I'm not sold on Michigan, Michigan State = Amazing, OSU would be national champs without sanctions

Brian Bennet - I agree with Rittenberg and have nothing to contribute

Ivan Miasel - The Big 12 is the best league ever...TEXAS

Mark May - No one can compete with the SEC.....and PITT

and so it continues.

mark schlabach struck me as the biggest SEC fanboy/shill/apologist/propagandist this year.

a 12-year-old from Zimbabwe could read a handful of other columns, glance at last years records, and provide more insight than Schlabach did

I agree!

It's amazing how innaccurate the douches at ESPNsucks can be when you follow the program and sport more closely than they do and know more detail than they do.

Rittenburg, though, now there's a guy whose clearly never played a second of any contact sport whatsoever.

Rittenburg is terrible. He knows just enough about teams to make it seem like he's smart to the millions of casual college football fans. But, as you said, anyone who follows one specific team can point out why he's an idiot when trying to analyze their team.

He ranked Denard the 6th best overall player in the big ten....6th best. Not 2, 3, 4 or 5...but 6th. He honestly believes there are 5 players in the big ten who are better than Denard.

I truly think he has some bias against Michigan. Every single year he predicts low on Michigan and then is shocked! when they are ahead of his prediction. Obviously the RR years were his most accurate years as big ten blogger but before, and since, then he's been pretty off in most things he predicts.

Mark May always seems to think Iowa is going to be a "player" as well.

The look on May's face when Holtz starts going on about ND is classic. One day he is going to lose it and just slap the snot out of him.

I think the reason May gets that "shit eating grin" on his face when Holtz begins talking is because he knows what Holtz is about to say is complete and unabashed bullshit.

He knows it, Holtz knows it, Rece Davis knows it and so do the producers in the pre-broadcast meetings. Holtz stuff is pure schtick and intended to satiate the Noter Dame sucks fanbase that needs that sort of reinforcement.

Lets just hope they dont put Holtz and the 4 team selection committee because if they do ND will always be in.

Will heat naw I cain't tullerate noone castin' insluts at teh Universe of Neuter Dame, the best futbaw collige in the nation. Now I ain't not talking bout no luck of the Arsh, cuz we all knewe that Tony Rice, Coley O'Brien and Rusty Lisch is the best three collige quarterbacks in collige fotbaw histery. And noitce that I niver mentined Ron Pollis or Joe SouthDakota. Now them MichinStateWolverines is a faine program but Ara was right to go fur the tie on the road. Whure does ye think the hole tratitin gat started in the first place? Naw I perdict that Neuter Dame is gonna be 13-0 and win the Nantinal titel this season and not give up a touchdown and you herd it here first.

My only real and genuine spittake was while watching the studio show with Davis/May & Holtz, probably about 5 or 6yrs ago now.

Holtz was commenting on recruiting and said, "Noter Dame [sucks] doesnt' rebuild, they reee-LOAD!"

Yeah ...been re-loading since 1993!!

I'd say 6th best player in the conference is HIGH for Denard Robinson. Do Michigan fans truly not realize he is NOT a very good QB??

Is he the best "playmaker" in the Big Ten? Yes. But that doesn't always translate into being the best player. He single handedly lost the MSU game last year for Michigan. He is a great talent, no doubt. But he is not close to being the best overall player in the conference.

No one informed Lou that ND was reloading with blanks.

I guess someone should tell the idiots who think he's a Top 5 pre-season Heisman Candidate. Granted the pre-season Hypeman Award list is stupid, but it's a consensus of opinion that would seem to disagree with your assessment of BigTen talent.
