20 years ago this coming Thursday; December 19, 1998, the United States House of Representatives voted to impeach President Bill Clinton on allegations of perjury and obstruction of justice.

It was a Saturday, and I watched the theatrics of the whole Donnybrook on television all day.

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt, was a guest on Meet the Press today, and was asked by host Chuck Todd if he regretted his votes for impeachment that day -Blunt was just finishing his first term in the House of Representatives at the time- and he answered “probably not as much as Bill Clinton regrets committing perjury”-or words to that effect I am paraphrasing; I am posting a link below with the exact quote.

Roy Blunt

Interesting perspective from Blunt, considering things as they are.

Just say yes or no, Roy. Jesus Christ... like no fucking GOP politician can hold a position without bringing up the Clintons to this day.

It was NBC’s Chuck Todd who brought up the Clinton impeachment vote of 20 years ago.

It was at the end of a pretty long interview, that was primarily about the recent ruling by the federal judge finding the ACA unconstitutional and national healthcare options going forward, and a little bit about the current ongoing Mueller investigations.

EDIT: Finally found at the clip. The question about the Clinton impeachment comes up @ about 7:54:

We need legal balance. If the Mueller investigation finds that Trump did something bad, it should find that Clinton did the same bad thing. This doesn't apply to the Clinton impeachment because Trump wasn't President yet.

"legal balance"... that's a new one.
