My guess is Liberals tend to be more inclined to want to help people perceived to be in need, which is the biggest thing I like about Liberals.
I question this assumption. I've never seen an actual study and articles I've read are generally not persuasive. The closest thing I recall from a magazine was a claim that people in right leaning states volunteer at soup kitchens at higher rates...which really doesn't tell you anything. (For example, maybe people volunteer at higher rates in states with more poverty.) I think a more fair stereotype would be to suggest that liberals are more willing to pay for and work for a government system that helps those in need, while conservatives are more willing to pay for and work for private systems that help those in need. Even then, it's not black and white and you can expect more crossover than people sticking to trends I suspect.
