While he does seem like a turd, he seems to have a lot more motivation to build a winner. I've so far been underwhelmed by Junior Illitch.

I don't know why people think Gilbert would be any better than the current owner.

I think if he was going to buy the Tigers he'd sell the Cavs and as he showed at the very least he is willing to spend.

I'd rather have Gilbert...only because I don't know how he can be any worse than an owner who thinks it's a good idea to keep Al Avila around (and is "thrilled" with his work).

They do have an analytics dept. but word is they all listen to Leyland instead.
