... the Detroit media keep bringing up our 2nd half season collapses the past three years, clearly trying to get Hoke to say he thinks this season will be different because RichRod is not the coach.

he's done a good job avoiding the pitfalls, giving any number of other reasons why he doesn't expect us to collapse again.

Media: "Coach Hoke, why has this team sucked so bad during the second half of the season for the years 2008 to 2010? Do you think there was some specific reason that could explain those collapses that occurred only during those years in recent Michigan history?"

Hoke: "I don't know. I wasn't here. Every team is different. What do you want from me!? Leave me alone!"

I wish someone would just come out and say it. Not hoke or anyone else from michigan. But someone should do an article about how much better the team has been with hoke. Would really love it if it was on espn.

Also, the better hoke does mean the worse of a coaching job rich rod has next?

That's a given, is there any coaching job better than Michigan?!?

Can R2 go up from here???

Not what I meant. His next job obviously isn't going to be as good as michigan. But the better hoke does the worse rod looks.

Say hoke does terrible. Rich could go to like a B type school. But if hoke keeps up what he's doing. Would rich go to a D or C type school to coach.

I heard tell that RR was being considered or interested in the Arizona job. RR in Tucson. Look out!

Nick Foles was an MSU transfer. The heir apparent unseated by Nichols, who was bumped by Cousins.

Is it bad that I want rich rod to fail wherever he ends up? Its not even that he did horrible at michigan, he just seems like a huge asshole.

Yes. I heard Rich Rod, Mike Leach & Gary Barnett mentioned by AZ sports radio guys the other week while in Phx. Apparently the AD is a younger guy so a 'non-traditional hire' was being discussed.

younger guy, huh? Naive, inexperienced probably. my guess is Mike Brown is already softening him up...

"Hey Rich, I think we found us a SAP. Get this, he didn't know that Michigan fired you! He read somewhere that their underachiever coach left the cupboard bare, and made everyone hate you, and he actually believes it!"

Well golly gee. Let's get my ass to arizona.

AZ isn't exactly a top tier program and the success in Tempe right now isn't helping.

So the rationale was a Rich Rod or a Mike Leach will bring his version of a 'unique and dynamic' offense to the desert. A place where weather and defense aren't much of an issue and where the fans would come in to see 63-37 Pac-12 games in Tucson.

Given both Leach and Rich Rod's checkered pasts, you're taking a risk in both cases and Barnett, who lives in Phoenix apparently and who has a bit of "history" from his days at CU too, was the more conservative potential coach being discussed.
