Said he received his 5th career concussion and has called it quits (link).

I guess that leaves Jayden Denegal as #3.

I definitely understand guys calling it quits over health concerns, especially concussions. Little weird doing it halfway through the season though.

Not sure when he picked up his 5th one though... against UI?

I assume he didn't want any more concussions, and didn't want to risk getting another in practice, especially since it was unlikely he was going to play again.

Or he figured he might as well go drink & party & enjoy being a college football player on campus, without the "grueling hours of practice" part... for the same reason.

7th year senior...At least he can fall back on his medical degree. 🤣

Sad news, but the right choice. The injuries pile up over the years, especially concussions. Concussions can have long term effects, including CTE and early dementia. I think the saddest thing I have seen is athletes that were once so vigorous laid low in their 50s and 60s as a result of the effects of suffering repeated concussions. Right choice for Jack. Wish you noting but success in your future. Always remember that although you played for many teams during your college career you ended up a Michigan Man. GO BLUE!
