absolutely not. he's a huge injury risk (over the past 3 seasons he has played 250 games and missed 236) and would cost more than upton in a trade. not worth it.

Prob would cost more, but maybe if the red sox have another terrible season (which is looking pretty likely, with their rotation and lineup), he could be had a lot cheaper ala Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford. Just a thought.

still not likely, they traded away crawford and gonzalez because of their huge contracts and age. i doubt they trade away a young cornerpiece of their team while trying to rebuild.

It would make him less valuable in the eyes of his pursuers in free agency and probably cost him many millions of dollars. I'm going to just guess he wouldn't be thrilled with that.
