Do the Tigers bring him back for the playoffs? Do they bring him back next year? Would he play 2nd base? Cut ties all together with him?

I'm curious to hear whether the team pushed him to take the suspension now or if it was strictly a personal decision because of free agency status next year. I'm leaning to the latter, but I'm hoping info comes out now that it's dealt with.

I think they bring him back for the playoffs but then he is finished as a Tiger.

Really going to depend on how much his bat is missed. If Iggy produces, then they probably just keep the roster as is, but if we are having a much weaker offense, then he probably comes back and Iggy takes a bench role or plays another position (2b)

I am 99.9% sure that he won't be back next year. As far as the playoffs....If Iggy plays well I have a feeling that Jhonny has played his last game as a Tiger.

Rather Jhonny on the bench next year than Santiago, IF he was willing to accept a more limited role with the team for a lower salary on a one year contract for '14 . But he most probably will get a better offer from another ballclub and as a starter.

I am pretty sure that he will return to the team when his suspension ends and will be included on the Tigers' potential postseason roster, but that might mean excluding a bench player. That is assuming Infante will return to full health "sometime" beforehand as well.

IMO, Turok, it makes DD and the Tigers organization weak. Sure lets welcome him back with open arms.

I get why they might do it, a chance at a title. But they'd screw this up big time if they allowed it.

Let him play. The league is punishing him enough, no need to add to it. He will have served his time w o pay

I don't see Iggy being benched, after being acquired at the trade deadline, regardless how he's hitting. Only possibility is if Infante is hurt but I still don't see.

Has MLB let the MSM & public know that these -players who are now accepting their suspensions had definitely ordered, purchased, and obtained PEDs from Biogenesis yet? Or are they being suspended b/c of MLB obtaining solid proof that merely consists of being linked to the clinic only by information obtained through the cooperation of former clinic employee(s) as well as, or through written documentation and/or recorded electronic communication(s)?

I'd still put him on the playoff roster. Remember what happened to Jeter against us last year? What if VMart goes down, Miggy, Prince, anyone at 2nd base? He could go back to short and Iggy could fill in at 2nd or 3rd. He could pinch hit or be a DH if VMart or Prince went down. His power and bat are worth putting him on the roster.

Sometimes you need to send a message.

Haha, no. If they were they'd be saying suspension until years end and no playoff possibility.

Thats your opinion but this is the suspension that was negotiated by the union and the owners. 50 games is time served, I dont think they should be punished more or less. If it was open to interpretation, why have the policy and suspension lengths in the first place?

In that case, why did Braun get more? By MLB law, he was never caught so no first offense. We all know he was guilty 2 years ago but that doesn't change the fact this is his first offense.

Also, from what I understand - if they didn't all agree they might have gotten longer suspension. Why, still first offense. IMO, MLB could have given them whatever they wanted..

Braun got more because he knew they could technically push it to 100 games. He took a plea deal.

And Arod, officially his 2nd offense yet no 100 gamer, 214 or lifetime. So again, I believe MLB can do whatever it wants and I don't think the players union would get in their way.

I thought Braun and Arod were "special" because both of these retards were publicly adamant that they never did anything, etc. They must have told Braun to accept the deal or they will go much further with the punishment. Obviously the union and Braun thought it was a fair deal.
