"Smoke 'em inside, Bulldog"

MC ... did you get his book?

?Baseball players are smarter than football players. How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field??

The guy was a maverick. When he was competing for a roster spot with the Yankees in spring training of 1962, he was assigned #56, as all players were not guaranteed a roster spot were assigned higher numbers. (Numbers in the 50s were virtually non-existent). When he made the team, he was asked what number he wanted, and he kept #56, against all convention of the day.

Yeah, I got it delivered last week. I got it used for pretty cheap.

But get this... turns out it's an autographed copy! I looked up his signature online, and it looks legit.

Wow ... that's neat! I'm reading two other baseball books, but I'll get to that one again soon.

You?re going to read ?Ball Four? again?

Spoiler alert- Bouton isn?t dead at the end of the book.

I haven't read it since 1971. And Bouton did "die" in the book when he was sent to the minors by the Pilots for a few weeks. "I died" was code for "I was demoted."
